Rules & Regulations

  1. Skatechurch is more than just a place to skate. We exist to share God's love and concern for the world, and skaters.  If you come to skate, you must stay for the break which includes free food, a word of encouragement, and a prayer of blessing over the night and the skaters. If you show up after the talk you cannot skate that night.  Likewise, if you leave before the talk, the next time you come you must attend the talk before you can skate.  (* If you have a good reason for leaving early or arriving late this will be taken into consideration.  Please speak with a staff member.)

  2. In order to keep things moving and not to waste others time please do not talk during the presentation.  If you’re told to be quiet three times, then you are gone for the night.

  3. Parents, guardians, family, and friends are welcome to come and observe all of our programs but they may not skate, and they must respect Skatechurch rules.

  4. Each session cost $1.00.  This is to help cover the cost of building/repairing ramps, as well as the rental of the facility in the fall, winter, and spring months. (* If the cost is a problem, please speak with a staff member.)

  5. All skaters must have a signed liability and medical release form filled out and signed in order to skate at either of our skate locations.  To acquire the necessary forms and instructions please click here.  New forms are required for all participants at the beginning of each new calendar year.

  6. Once the skate session begins in the fall, winter, and spring months, you must remain in the Henry Jansen building until the end of the skate session.  Please do not use any other door to enter or exit other then the specified entrance door. If you need to leave in order to use the bathroom facility, please let a staff member know. Likewise, in the summer months, all students 17 and under must remain on church property until the end of the night.

  7. Please don’t use cuss words.  If you are excessive in the use of profanity the staff will ask you to leave for the evening.

  8. No drugs, alcohol, etc.  Please do not smoke cigarettes or chew tobacco on church or fair property.

  9. No snaking other skaters.  Be cool, have fun; let everyone have a run.

  10. All skaters are asked to show courtesy and respect for staff, the church & fairgrounds property, and fellow skaters at all times.

  11. EVERYONE under the age of 18 must wear a helmet in all our skate areas.  We have helmets available for those who do not bring their own.  We encourage everyone to wear all available safety gear.

  12. All skaters are to obey the rules and skate staff, especially when asked to stop skating for the talk time or closing.  If you are asked to stop skating more then three times you will be asked to leave and/or you will not be able to skate during the next session.
